story of The Old Ulcigrai Bakery began last century
when arched stone ovens were still made. The first Ulcigrai
baker we know about was Domenica, nicknamed "Meneghina".
We have reason to believe that this traditional nickname
had been passed down by her ancestors, but this is a tale
lost in the mists of time. Since those days five generations
have followed, and we might easily imagine how the fire
of the ovens and the aroma of bread and cakes have been
so important to this family, who have always loved this
craft and who have always sought to improve their skills
through new experience. |
